Today we had our family pictures taken and they turned out so well! I'm really looking forward to them coming in so I can put them up. Originally, we were going to have them at the beach, but today it was overcast, windy, and a bit chilly. So we did them in the studio, which gave us more backgrounds to work with. It also kept us out of the cold air which is good, since Brian has been sick since Saturday (he hardly ever gets sick), and I didn't want him to get any worse ... although I must say he's starting to get back to normal. He's getting hot again (he likes it cold but the past couple of days he's been the one turning the heat up).
As for the past few days, we have been okay, kinda busy. On Saturday, we had a barbeque and invited Brian's Marines & their families, and his former Marines who will be getting out before he gets back. We had a house full for sure, about 20 guests in all. Brian cooked the hot dogs and hamburgers, and I made mashed potatoes and 2 batches of these Apple Dumplings. Let me tell you, they were easy and delicious! Each batch made 32, so I had a total of 64 to start with ... by the end of the day there were only 8 left. Eight! Which was perfect for the next day, Easter Sunday.
After church, there was a candy hunt on the front lawn (like they needed any more candy). They had a fun time and got a decent amount each.
When we got home, we had ham, [leftover] mashed potatoes, & baked beans for lunch. It was so good! And I am so thankful to have a husband that can cook really well - even if he didn't notice the thin layer of plastic covering the ham! ;-) It turned out alright. After our food settled and we had room again, we had the rest of the apple dumplings for dessert / snack. Yum!
Today I took Brian Lee out for a little bit. We stopped by the exchange and he tried out this guitar. Just about the right size for him.
The rest of the day was pretty uneventful, except for the family pics. After we were done with the pictures, we went to Taco Bell and had dinner. Enjoy these pics of the kids!
